Cross Contour
My inspiration to create this piece was that it is a unique way to make a heart with your fingers.
I created this piece by using pen and ink. I started by making the hand, then the sleeve and finished by making the splatters. I used different thicknesses of lines.
The Pianist
My inspiration for this piece is to challenge myself to draw hand better. I decided to draw hands playing the piano because my grandfather played the piano.
The process I used to created this piece was that I started light and gradually pressed harder to make the whiter spaces. I drew the piano after I drew the hand to make it easier.
Hummingbird
My inspiration for this piece was to use things and create art out of them. I chose a hummingbird because I see them a lot around my grandparents' house.
I created this piece by gluing sequins, petals, and toothpicks. I glued the sequins first. Then, I glued the petals and ended by gluing the toothpicks.
Girl with Balloons
My inspiration for this piece was to challenge myself to draw a person out of oil pastel. Also to create different textures.
I created this piece by using oil pastel to making the textures in the piece. I used acrylic paint for the strings because this kind of paint works well with oil pastels.
Coil pot
My inspiration for this piece was to challenge myself by using clay. I wanted to do something other than drawing and painting, which are things that I feel most comfortable with.
I created this piece by rolling clay into coils. I used slip to connect the coils together.
